Hors d’oeuvres in French literally means “apart from the main work”, and usually consists of “finger foods” that are easily consumed and handled. This is a great way to snack when tailgating; bruschetta, pigs in a blanket, nachos, and dips are fantastic finger foods to incorporate into the day. This promotes more of a grazing than a feeding, and actually encourages more social interaction because no one has a big plate to kill.
