Here is a list of our favorite tailgating games.

1.  Beirut/Beer-Pong: A drinking game in which players attempt to throw ping pong balls across a table into an opponent’s half-filled cups of beer. Players are required to drink the beer from any of their cups into which the opponent throws a ball. The first player to hit all their opponent’s cups wins. The loser is required to drink whatever beer is left on the table (in opponent’s cups).

2.  Cornhole/ Baggo: To play, set up two boards about 20 – 25 feet from one another. Teams of two will place themselves behind either board and proceed to throw bean bags at the opposite board. A bag that goes through the hole is worth three points, while a bag that lands on the board but does not slide through the hole is worth one point.

3.  The Washer Toss Game: To play, set up two wooden boxes about 10 feet from one another.  Like in Cornhole, teams of two will line up behind either washer box and throw small, metal washers at the opposite box. A washer that lands in the hole is worth three points, while one that lands in the box is worth one point.

4.  Lawn Darts:. To play, place plastic rings on the ground about 10 feet from one another. To score points, players will have to toss lawn darts and try to land them inside the opposing circle.

5.  Tailgate Trivia – A few days before the game find out 2 not so well known facts about everyone who will be at the tailgate. Type up all those fun little facts, and have them ready for the big day! When you’re ready to play, just put all those facts into a big bowl or hat and have each guest pull out one slip of paper at a time! Everyone has a fun time trying to figure out which sordid little secret belongs to which party guest! This tailgate party game is a great way for new and old friends to find out all kinds of fun new things about each other, but it’s one you mightn’t want the kids to listen in on!

This is an age-old tactic that seems to work out better than any other plan-ahead-strategy. If you can wake up and hit the road earlier than you planned, you’ll be ahead of schedule and have a much better chance of acquiring the parking that you want. In addition, leaving the show early (while it is still going on) will get you ahead of the traffic jam, and get you home quicker and safer.

If you’re heading to your home team’s game, you should probably rock a jersey or helmet, just like you’d rock a tee-shirt or hat for your favorite band. If attention is your thing, or if you really just like to have a good time, trying dressing in something crazy with your team colors, like a tuxedo or a super hero cape. Everybody loves the clowns, and it really keeps things positive and ups the spirit of the group.

It would be a shame to see all those precious meats wither away, or have any food that’s supposed to hot end up cold. Depending on where you are, food that has been left out can attract rodents, sometimes large animals to your space. That raw wing will get picked up and eaten by someone, the one you forgot to throw on the grill and left out to get spoiled. Gross.

What could be better at a tailgate than a huge package of marinating meat ready to be tossed a hot grill? Nothing! Try forming some ground beef patties before the event for awesome, no-hassle burgers. Hot dogs are a standard treasure; don’t forget the buns. Steak, chicken wings, Italian sausage, Kielbasa or chorizo, pork tenderloin, and even fish are all excellent additions to a day of constant cooking and eating. Your guests will not tell you that you brought too much meat, so stock up!
